The Digital Writer, Sean Platt, joins Co-author David Wright and Popular Blogger, Johnny B. Truant for the Self Publishing Podcast

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) May 09, 2012

Kings of serialized fiction, David Wright and Sean Platt have joined popular blogger Johnny B. Truant for the Self Publishing Podcast. The podcast is designed to help writers learn the ins and outs of indie publishing with intelligence, humor and practical information.

Digital publishing is in a constant shift. Writers now have a ridiculous amount of opportunity, said Truant. Even traditionally published authors are turning self publishing. But that doesnt mean they know how to make the right decisions when it comes to modern publishing. Weve been in the trenches of blogging and social media for years, and want to help other writers do what were doing.

Both Platt and Truant are fluent bloggers and marketers, and both have written for some of the worlds largest blogs, such as Copyblogger, Problogger, and Zen Habits. Platt and Wright have seen remarkable success with their weekly Kindle serials, including landing on the Top 100 Rated Fiction Books of All Time on Amazon, for their debut series, the post-apocalyptic horror serial Yesterdays Gone.

The trio launched the new podcast, located at SelfPublishingPodcast.com, in mid April. Born from a desire to help others achieve the success they were achieving themselves.

The podcast is packed with advice, best practices, and interviews with experts would help others avoid the trial and error theyd had when publishing their own work.

Indie publishing was once expensive and mostly ineffective, said Wright. Now, anyone can publish. And profit. But its also trickier, and youll never sell millions of downloads if you dont put the pieces together correctly.

The Self Publishing Podcast, which publishes new episodes every Thursday, covers topics such as how to get started self-publishing, how to make a compelling book cover, how to market your book, writing and editing tips, how to format for different platforms, and much more.

The podcast is peppered with Truant, Wright and Platts trademark wit and friendly camaraderie. The show is available on the iTunes, Blackberry and Zune podcast directory, as well as non-subscription play through the website at SelfPublishingPodcast.com.

In addition to their serialized fiction, Platt publishes nonfiction through his publishing company Sterling & Stone, as The Digital Writer.

Johnny is known for his humor novel The Bialy Pimps, which debuted with a giant splash through blog publicity in February.

This is a brave new frontier, said Platt. The good news is that any good writer can now make a full-time living purely as a writer, but you must first nderstand how to make it work in order for that to happen. Thats why we started this podcast to help writers understand, and to finally realize their dreams of publication.

Digital Marketing Labs Article Reviews How to Publish an E-book on Amazon the Right Way

Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 15, 2012

Writers are learning the advantages of publishing an e-book on Amazon, as the online marketplace continues its transformation into a beast of a retailer, a recent article from Digital Marketing Labs said. Its no longer a new realm; Amazon has become the go-to place for both businesses and customers. Finding the right way to go about getting published and selling content has become a predominant need.

To get the best system for selling on Amazon in the world, the article stated, look no further than the Special Report from Digital Marketing Labs, Partnering with Amazon: How to Give Amazon Permission to Sell Your Products to Their Over 275 Million Registered Buyers.

The report was compiled to show both experienced and beginner Amazon sellers how to publish an e-book, how to set up a WebStore, and how to use the Amazon Advantage Program. The thorough report was heavily researched, with data analysis and tested strategies from the experts at the Digital Marketing Labs.

The procedures in the report walk through the self-publishing process. Amazon makes it so easy to publish, but things like formatting, stylizing, and promoting content arent exactly simple to understand, the article added. Partnering with Amazon makes them simple, allowing anyone to not only make their content available, but give it a high ranking in search engines and drive traffic to their own websites.

Plus, the article mentioned that since an e-book is entirely digital, profit margins reach 100%. Theres no printing fees or design fees. There are no payments to Amazon besides a small commission added after money is made, and the aftereffects of publishing on Amazon are just as valuable as a low cost. The free traffic generated by the retail king through search engines gives products respect and authority; a higher ranking makes content seem trustworthy, and therefore makes the business it came from trustworthy too.

The Partnering with Amazon report gives all the necessary advice needed to get set up as a publisher and make content available to the 275 million-strong customer base. It helps avoid the three most common mistakes that can ruin a relationship with Amazon, and informs about the types of e-book content that sells the best.

The Special Report is an informative, educational release from Digital Marketing Labs, which strives to help businesses and entrepreneurs gain insight and information on the trends, data, and strategies that can take them to the top of their industry. When its time to learn how to publish an e-book on Amazon, turn to the comprehensive system designed by the experts, and find a copy at http://digitalmarketer.com/reports/partnering-with-amazon/.
