Marilyn Monroe, Montrealers and Melodies of Boney M Launch Brighton Babylon Book with Bags of Style.

Brighton, Sussex (PRWEB UK) 20 February 2013

Peter Jarrette’s guests were invited to fasten their seat belts for take off and feel the love for his new book Brighton Babylon by flight attendants dressed in shocking pink at The Naked Eye Gallery on Sunday afternoon.

End of the pier photographer Melissa Buchanan posed adult children in the Bags of Fish for Cats 50p cut out board. Gallery owner David Donno served cake with Brighton-green icing, confected by a fan who thought the book juicy, fit for cats to eat.

Montreal law professor Naomi Sidaway-Sollinger jetted in from Kazakhstan, her lacquered Brighton-green fingernails studded with Swarovski crystals. She came to collect copies for law students at KazGU. They begged her to carry back as many copies as possible so they can ‘begin to understand western culture more.

Artists and wannabes mingled loudly and laughed at the launch speech. It was pointed out that the success of this ‘new adult’ book could take the author back to the New York City he had enjoyed when he was both young and pretty.

It has been 75 years since the publication of Graham Greene’s Brighton Rock and multicultural migrations have transformed Brighton into the ‘gender neutral’ international hub it is today. Jarrette’s book has twinned gaudy Brighton with Babylon. Brighton beach blankets now equal the weirdest ambivalence that a San Francisco has to offer.

Laura Nixon captured the heart of every Brighton daddy when she reincarnated a platinum blond Marilyn Monroe. Melodies of Boney M performed, a tribute band featuring Andrea Barker, Chantal Brown and Debra Lewis-Brown who normally reserve themselves for fans in Russia. Their medley heard for the first time in the UK to rapturous applause. Brighton Babylon author and illustrator Peter Jarrette performed with them. He wore his trademark black hat in various styles. The height of his hat increased as the event progressed. He wore a black gauze funeral veil to denote the haunted histories of his Brighton Babylon characters, their chaos and intrigue.

A Latest TV camera crew under the eagle eyes of Director Bill Smith shot footage of the author, the cat loving guests and their lapdogs. A senior Jamaican private investigator specialising in hotel surveillance in ‘All Caribbean Islands’ kept his private eye out for local Yardies. But did he identify the Jamaican born royal author Lady Colin Campbell, so very english in her tweeds among the throng?

Film makers, TV script writers and their agents schmoozed each other on their endless quest to sign the next big thing – and somehow felt that this might just actually be it!

Brighton Babylon is a book in four parts, 448 pages packed with over ninety vignettes which richly evoke the city and vividly portray its characters. The volume is the first of Jarrette’s stories about life in the city he has adopted as his own.

In her preview Julie Burchill said the book was ‘A Sex and The City’ (for Brighton) in a fresh and funky century.’ For Peter James ‘You can taste and smell the city on every page.’ More reviews are expected and reader feedback lauds Brighton Babylon as ‘wonderfully enjoyable on the commuter train, on the commuter plane, at home or on the beach.’

Brighton Babylon is available now from Dynasty http://www.dynastypress.co.uk/books-brighton-babylon.html at all good book shops, online at Amazon, Waterstones, WH Smith, for download on Kindle and Apples iBookstore.

Bestselling Author Sean Platt Murders Wildly Successful Blog to Launch Self Publishing Startup, Sterling & Stone

Cincinnati, Ohio (PRWEB) April 03, 2012

For the last three years Sean Platt has run the successful blog, Ghostwriter Dad, where he has delivered on the promise to help, “good writers make a great living.” Self-publishing has been good to Sean Platt, and he wants to be good to the writing community around him. Ghostwriter Dad is dead, long live The Digital Writer.

After spending three years as a ghostwriter, Sean Platt has written it all: memoirs, fiction, sales letters, info products, and everything in between. He co-founded the publishing imprint, Collective Inkwell in 2009, and finished out last year with the bestselling title, serialized fiction title, Yesterday’s Gone,.

Modeling their serialized fiction after superbly scripted television such as LOST, Breaking Bad, and the Soprano’s, and referring to their books as “episodes” and “seasons,” Sean and his creative partner, David Wright, had the format working better than it had since Dickens, or at least since Stephen King’s The Green Mile.

They have since gone on to publish Yesterday’s Gone Season II, the Twilight Zone inspired, Dark Crossings, the YA paranormal title, ForNevermore, and the upcoming alien abduction thriller, White Space.

After seeing the firsthand success of serialized fiction at Collective Inkwell, Sean co-founded Sterling & Stone with his partners, Lori Taylor and Matt Gartland taking the serialization concept and applying it to non-fiction, starting with production of three short, specific, high quality titles per week.

The Digital Writer isnt just the name of Sean’s new website, it’s also the title of the first set of books the company is publishing. Sean plans to give away a new Digital Writer title to his audience each week so he can help them “get smarter faster.”

Sean says he had to “murder Ghostwriter Dad” because the old site couldn’t help writers the way he wanted. The Digital Writer is built from the ground up for modern writers who are willing to work hard and smart so they can write themselves the best possible future.

Sean says that after years of struggle, he wanted more for modern writers who didn’t want to struggle like he has.

“Ive written keyword articles for $ 5 and sales letters for thousands. Ive run niche micro-blogs, and blogs for half-billion dollar companies. Ive ghostwritten books Ill never be able to claim, and been fortunate enough to see my name with a #1 beside it. I lost my house, nearly drowned in debt, and wrote until my fingers wouldnt work without my wife rubbing them back to life….

…But only so we could put our children in a school we could have only dreamed of a few years earlier, make enough money to buy my unlimited creative freedom, and use my fingers to write only what I truly want to write. But thats what being an entrepreneur is living a few years of your life like most people would never dare, so you can spend the rest of your life living like most people never will.”

Sean promises “EPIC” content once per week, and has added a free Member Area to the site where users can get exclusive access to free eCourses, video trainings, and special Q&A’s, along with printables and worksheets for each of The Digital Writer books.

In an Internet swimming in a sea of sameness, with millions of blogs that simply come and go, The Digital Writer promises to be something truly special.
