Age of Eve: Return of the Nephilim Is a New Romance Novel from BroadLit with a Paranormal Twist

Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) February 26, 2013

Fallen angels, voodoo magic, and intense passion combine in the first paranormal romance novel from Quantum Leap co-creator D. M. Pratt. BroadLit, a company introducing a new slant on romance, is publishing today, February 26, 2013, the first novel in award-winning D. M. Pratts new romantic thriller series Age of Eve: Return of the Nephilim. The series introduces readers to a passion of mythological proportions that will captivate the readers body, mind and soul. At BroadLits online romance hub TruLOVEstories.com a downloadable free chapter is available.

The first book in Ms. Pratts paranormal series introduces the heroine. Eve Dowling, a talented writer for a successful magazine that covers New Orleans society events, is leading an exciting life filled with friends, family and workuntil it is turned upside down by a fateful encounter with a stunningly handsome mystery man who ignites her most sensual fantasies. When Eve awakes naked, sexually ravaged and alone in the garden of one of New Orleans most historic homes, she begins her search to uncover who this mystery man really is. She tracks him through the dark side of Old Algiers with the aid of one of its most famous Voodoo priestesses to an abandoned sanitarium in the heart of the swamplands surrounding New Orleans. It is there she first confronts two creatures, first described in ancient Hebrew and Christian texts as the Nephilim or fallen sons of God, who vie to possess her body and soul and keep her from true love with her mystery man. Is Eves battle with the Nephilim to save her mystery loverand her own lifereal or imagined? Does Eve really hold a key to saving humanity from a loveless existence? Or is it all simply a nightmare dream? And Book One in this series is only the beginning.

Nancy Cushing-Jones, BroadLits Chief Publishing Officer, is pleased to announce this latest romance series acquisition. I had never heard of Nephilim until I read Ms. Pratts novel and now I hope to never meet a Nephilim in real lifemeeting two of them on the printed page is enough excitement for me!

According to Ms. Pratt, Female empowerment has been my battle cry since I started writing as a teen, and has continued throughout my professional writing career. I wrote several books and screenplays in the early 90s and was told that a female protagonist who didnt get saved by a man would never happen in reality, much less in a movie. I actually remember being asked when a guy was going to save her. Now much has changed thanks to the huge success of female driven, strong, heroine-based stories in literature and films today. Im thrilled by these changes because I believe women are the salvation of the planet.

Ms. Pratt is a five-time Emmy nominee, a Golden Globe nominee and short listed for the Academy Awards for her live action short film Girl Friends. She has received the Lillian Gish Award from Women in Film, The Angel Award, The Golden Block Award, and six B.E.N. Awards. As Co-Executive Producer and Head Writer for the ground-breaking series Quantum Leap television series Ms. Pratt wrote 25 episodes and co-wrote an additional 15 episodes. She made her directorial debut on Cora Unashamed for the BBCs Masterpiece Theatres The American Collection, which aired on both PBS and the BBC.

Breakout Writers Swinging For Their Next Self Publishing Home Run With The Young Adult Paranormal Series ForNevermore (And Free Ebook!)

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) April 17, 2012

Authors Sean Platt and David W. Wright have already proven that weekly serialization works to drive sales and please readers with their post-apocalyptic serial Yesterdays Gone, which has generated impressive sales and over 200 5-Star reviews. Now the duo is aiming for more self publishing success with their first entry into the young adult paranormal/dark fantasy genres.

Audiences who loved The Hunger Games and Twilight will love Platt and Wright’s recently released first season of their serial, ForNevermore.

Readers who want to sample the story can get the first episode of the series free at Amazon April 17-19 2012. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007EEF3TS/

We wanted to write something that captured the magic and misery of being young, trying to find your place, and not fitting in anywhere, said Platt, who described ForNevermore as a darkly romantic fantasy horror.

ForNevermore tells the story of Noella Snow, a 17 year old who lives in two worlds. The real world where her parents are dead and she lives with her aunt in upstate New York, then her dreamworld where her father is still alive, and shes watched over by Dante, a mysterious man with a deadly touch.

As her 17th birthday approaches, Noellas dream world begins to bleed into her real world, and she starts hearing voices and seeing monsters that cant possibly be real. As Death comes to claim her, Dante saves her, saying not only is he real, but he has watched over her for hundreds of years.

Is she losing her mind? Will he have to return to Kings Point Psychiatric Hospital?

Dont let the young adult tag fool you. This is a deep, dark story, said Wright. The only thing separating this story-wise from our other fiction is a lack of sex and the language is PG-13. But the scares, plot twists, and crazy cliffhanger endings our readers love are all there! We love how the first season turned out in its weekly form, and are thrilled to publish the full season.

Platt and Wright are looking to become Kings of the Serial this year with a publishing schedule of one book, short story, or episode per week in 2012. They treat their serials like TV shows, writing in six week blocks, with each episode ranging from 11,000 to 25,000 words in length. Each episode sells for .99 during its season. After all six episodes of a given season are out, they compile all six episodes into a Season Compilation, which sells in one low-priced book.

The duo says that offering readers a choice of either buying the serials in weekly doses or waiting for the whole season book has been one of the keys to their success.

Yesterdays Gone: Season Two returned in January for its second smash season, running six straight weeks into February. They followed with the debut of ForNevermore in February. Theyll be returning to adult horror with their newest series, WhiteSpace, a sci-fi horror serial, on May 1.

You know how HBO, Showtime, and AMC all have awesome must-see TV week after week? We want to be the HBO, Showtime, or AMC of the Kindle world, where no matter what, you know well have something awesome for you, every Tuesday, said Platt.

Shannon Duffy Casts a Spell Over the Paranormal Romance Genre with Her Bewitching Young Adult Debut, Spectral

Scranton, PA (PRWEB) April 01, 2012

To captivate her audience, Duffy crafted Spectral in first person to allow her readers to experience Jewels world as she learns that her whole life has been a lie and she discovers not only a prophecy, but who she really is. This device takes the readers on a journey full of twists and turns as they discover what is being kept from Jewel and who she really is, right along with her. Spectral will be released from Tribute Books on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.

“With many witch books on the market, I think what sets this one apart is that for Jewels whole life, she isnt aware shes a witch, or that witches even exist. Shes been brought up to believe shes living in the Witness Protection Program, when in fact the reality is extremely different,” Duffy says. “I can relate with Jewel and her journey throughout this story. No, Im not a witch, nor did I live in the Witness Protection Program. *smiles* But having been raised pretty sheltered myself, I can relate to her naivety, and her struggles to grow in strength as a person that may come from having been raised in such a sheltered way. It was a fun, wild journey to take Jewel on, to finally see her come into her own, and embrace who she truly iswhile falling hard for a boy along the way.”

About Shannon Duffy: Shannon is also the author of the MG Fantasy series, Gabriel Stone and the Divinity of Valta. The first book in the series is to be released in January of 2013 from Month9Books. She is an active member of YALITCHAT.ORG and SCWBI. She’s originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland. She currently resides in Ontario, Canada with her husband and son.
